BALLET - BEGINNERS

An open, non-syllabus class.
Follows the format of a traditional ballet class, including a comprehensive warmup at the barre and centre exercises that introduce turns and jump sequences.
A nurturing environment designed to develop strong technique, musicality and artistry, with an emphasis always on fun and harnessing one’s love of dance.
Suited to anyone who is new to the world of ballet, as well as those with previous dance experience who are looking to consolidate their technique.
BALLET - INTERMEDIATE
90 mins
An open, non-syllabus class.
Follows the format of a traditional ballet class, providing a full body workout that is set at a faster pace to allow time to complete a comprehensive barre programme before going onto centre exercises that include pirouettes and jumps.
Best suits those with quite a considerable amount of ballet knowledge.
BALLET - MIXED ABILITY
90 mins
An open, non-syllabus class.
Follows the format of a traditional ballet class, providing a full body workout through the inclusion of a comprehensive barre warmup in readiness for centre exercises that include pirouettes (turns) and allegro (jumps).
A nurturing environment designed to hone strong technique, musicality and artistry, with an emphasis always on fun and harnessing one’s love of dance.
This class caters for mixed abilities so modifications to certain movements and sequences are offered to suit the individual.
Some previous ballet experience will be needed for this class. These sessions are not suitable for complete beginners.
BODY CONDITIONING (PBT)

A session designed to enhance the ballet-based techniques used in all
BC workouts.
This class is based on the principles of PBT, a revolutionary programme that features the use of props which adds focus and intensity.
Designed to strengthen your core, improve flexibility, develop muscle memory and correct alignment and posture. A seriously fun way to enhance physical health and improve proficiency in non-dancers and dancers alike.
Suitable for all abilities. No previous experience needed. All equipment provided.
BARRE WORKOUT
60 mins
A session that will take you through the rigours of classic barre training
used by professional dancers, leaving the body sculpted and fitness levels raised.
These workouts offer clear explanations, verbal guidance throughout each
sequence and options to modify certain movements as appropriate.
The perfect class for beginners as well as those with previous experience who wish to consolidate their technique.
The focus of this class rotates over a 6 week period, to give a comprehensive body workout. The focus areas are; basics & feet, calves, thighs, glutes, spine mobility and core strength.
Suitable for all abilities. No previous experience needed.
BARRE EXPRESS
45 mins
A quicker session that still offers a full body workout by using the techniques associated with classic ballet training at the barre, to strengthen and tone the body while raising general fitness levels.
Express workouts have less detailed explanations (but still offer full demonstrations to follow) so as to keep a faster pace during these shorter sessions.
The focus of this class rotates over a 6 week period, to give a comprehensive body workout. The focus areas are; basics & feet, calves, thighs, glutes, spine mobility and core strength.
Suitable for all abilities. Some previous barre workout experience recommended.
MOVEMENT to MUSIC
45 mins
A low-impact session designed for over 60s to stay active in a gentle way, using ballet-based techniques in sequences that are supported by the use of a barre, focusing on postural alignment, mobility, muscle strength, coordination, balance and respiratory function.
Each class offers the same warm welcome into a fun and truly inclusive environment that is as much about improving mental well-being as it is about physical health.
Suitable for EVERYbody. No previous experience is required for these classes.
EN POINTE

A workout to lay down solid foundations required for the rigours of
pointework.
These sessions are designed to build strength in the feet, ankles, legs
and core, all of which must be done while maintaining the correct alignment of the
body.
An initial assessment is required before attending these workouts, after which
members will need to ensure regular attendance due to the additional safety
elements that need to be considered.
REPERTOIRE CLASS
75 mins
A session that offers a comprehensive warm-up with a fast paced barre to prepare the body for learning solos from timeless classic ballets.
The solo section of this class will be repeated each week over the course of one calendar month, so as to allow for the development of both mental and muscle memory, enabling the improvement of important elements like technique, speed, precision, musicality and artistry.
While this is a mixed ability class that offers adapted versions of the solos to provide a diverse and inclusive experience for varying levels of ability, these sessions are best suited to those with some previous ballet training.
